E-Commerce Settings

Mooberry Book Manager will automatically detect if you have one of the supported e-commerce plugins installed on your site.  If you do, a new section will be added to the Retailers settings screen. Access this screen by going to Mooberry Book Manager Settings -> Retailers.

You will see a section asking how the buttons should appear on your book page.  The buttons added to your book page will add that book to the cart for your e-commerce plugin.

You have several options to choose from:

Don’t Add Button

If you choose Don’t add button, no button will be added to your book page. Your reader will not be able to purchase your book directly from the book page on your website.

You may want to use this option if you are still in the process of setting up your e-commerce plugin and are not ready for your readers to purchase your book directly from your site yet.

Use Matching Buttons Settings Below

This option will only appear if you have the Use Matching Buttons for All Retailers option selected in the Retailers Buttons section.

By selecting this option, the colors you choose in the Retailer Button Colors section will be used for these buttons as well. This allows the buttons for purchasing your books directly through your website to blend in seamlessly with the other purchase links on your book page.

You also have the option to set the text of the button. This text will be on all buttons for all books that you are selling directly through your website with your e-commerce plugin, so it should be generic text.  The text “Buy Direct” is the default text.

If Mooberry Book Manager is able to determine the format(s) of the book being purchased through this link, that text will be added to the button as well. (For more information about this see the articles for your specific e-commerce plugin: WooCommerce or Easy Digital Downloads.)

Set Color

The Set Color option will allow you to choose the background color and the text color of the button. This option is good for when you want the buttons for purchasing  directly through your website to be a different color than the rest of the purchase buttons on your book pages. It is also good for when you are using images for your other retailers and you don’t want to use images for purchasing directly through your website.

You also have the option to set the text of the button. This text will be on all buttons for all books that you are selling directly through your website with your e-commerce plugin, so it should be generic text.  The text “Buy Direct” is the default text.

Use Image

The Use Image option allows you to set an image that will be used for the button. The same image will be used on all books for all products. For this reason, we recommend only using this option when your store is set up with a single, simple product for each book (ie, no variations).
